COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS)
Chris Simpson Wins the CCSDS Ron Jenkins Memorial Finale
Rex McCroskey Memorial Set for Sunday at Springfield Raceway
WHEATLAND, Mo. (08/30/25) – Overtaking early lead Daniel Adam on the 11th circuit, Chris Simpson cruised to the win over the final 30 laps with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) on Saturday night to complete a weekend sweep at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) in the Ron Jenkins Memorial.
With Saturday’s $12,000 win, Simpson’s weekend take exceeded $20,000.
“I knew (Daniel Adam) would get out there, the top was better. I could see that it had a pretty good cushion," Simpson said. "And I knew I had to get out there and ride, and just follow him. I was just trying to keep the car a lot of straighter than he was just so I didn't burn up the right-rear. Then I just dove to the bottom there, felt the rubber, and I was like 'oh crap.' Yeah, once you get in line there, it kind of sucks. I hate it for the fans. They did all they could. They worked hard on it."
From the outside front row Daniel Adam paced the first 10 laps of the feature, which marked his first-ever CCSDS laps led. By lap 11 Simpson, who was the NewVisionCustomShirts.com Pole Sitter for the second-straight night, charged to the lead. The Oxford, Iowa racer, who one night earlier picked up his first-career CCSDS win, paced the field for the final 30 laps to get the win.
Adams saw a Top-5 run eradicated with a flat tire on lap 37. Similarly fourth-running Terry Phillips slowed from the fourth spot on the 32nd circuit.
Sixth-starting Clay Stuckey was second at the checkered flag with R.C. Whitwell, Cole Wells, and Mason Oberkramer, who started 14th, rounding out the Top 5.
The inaugural Rex McCroskey Memorial presented by Collins Property Management takes center stage on Sunday, August 31 at Springfield (Mo.) Raceway, and posts a $6,064 winner’s check for the CCSDS contingent. All Trailer Services B-Mods, Indigo Sky Casino Midwest Modz, Wheeler Metals Legends, Pepsi Pure Stocks, Guffey Services Heating & Cooling Mini Stock / FWD, and All Metal Recycling Bombers will all be in action.
On Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway, the pit and spectator gates open at 4 p.m. CT both days with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:05.
On Sunday evening at Springfield Raceway the pit gate opens at 2 p.m. CT with the grandstands opening at 4 p.m., and on-track action at 4:30 p.m.
