Shane Clanton Captures CCSDS Clash at The Mag $12,000 Finale
Arrowhead Speedway’s Sooner Showdown Up Next on Aug. 21 – 23
COLUMBUS, Miss. (08/09/25) – The 2025 edition of the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Clash at The Mag drew to a close on Saturday evening at Magnolia Motor Speedway, where veteran racer Shane Clanton captured the $12,000 finale victory.
Clanton battled past Josh Putnam for good on lap 33 and went on to register his first-career CCSDS triumph, despite a hard-charging Cade Dillard.
“This is a young man’s sport right here, being 50 years old, I’m wore out,” Clanton said. “I was trying to dodge the holes (on the bottom), but you could go through them and make some ground. Josh (Putnam) was doing a hell of job trying to make his car go off turn two over there. I got a good run, didn’t mean to get into him in three, but I was trying to slide him to get back to my spot in three and four. It was a hell of a race.”
From the NewVisionCustomShirts.com Pole Position Josh Putnam led the first 11 circuits before Shane Clanton took the lead first on lap 12 with Josh Putnam back to the point one lap later. The Alabama native held the top spot until lap 33, when Clanton took the lead in turn one.
Once out front, Clanton’s job was from easy as he had to turn back the advances of Louisiana’s Cade Dillard. However, Dillard faced his own challenge late as he battled a deflating tire.
Ultimately, Clanton crossed the finish line 1.602 seconds in front of Dillard with eighth-starting Sam Seawright, Putnam, and Jake O’Neil completing the Top-5 finishers.
