Conway, Arkansas (09/28/20) – After a two-week break, the stars and cars of the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series presented by Lucas Oil are gearing up for a busy first weekend of October.

Weekend action includes a Thursday, October 1 make-up feature at Batesville Motor Speedway. The feature grid was set back in July and has been twice delayed by Mother Nature. From there, the CCSDS rolls south to the Kilgore-family promoted Greenville Speedway, where the tour will sanction the 14th annual Gumbo Nationals on Friday and Saturday.

On the heels of a Labor Day weekend sweep of CCSDS competition, Logan Martin has built a strong 158-point lead lead as the Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man. He’s followed in the points by Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year point leader Spencer Hughes. Timothy Culp, B.J. Robinson, Morgan Bagley, Neil Baggett, Brian Rickman, Rick Rickman, Drew Armstrong, Kyle Beard, Jon Mitchell, Hunter Rasdon, Joe Godsey, David Payne, and Chad Mallett round out the Top 15 in the latest series standings.

The CCSDS contingent resumes on Thursday, October 1 at Mooney Starr’s Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas). The program consists solely of the $3,000-to-win feature that was postponed by Mother Nature on July 31. Neil Baggett and Timothy Culp will bring the field to the green flag for the finale, when action resumes.

The tour will then head south to Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi), where it will sanction the Gumbo Nationals on Friday and Saturday, October 2-3. The 14th edition of the mega weekend marks the first time that the CCSDS has sanctioned the event. The weekend includes a $4,000-to-win / $300-to-start program on Friday night and a complete $8,000-to-win / $500-to-start event on Saturday evening.

The CCSDS entry fee each night is $100.

An open practice is scheduled for Thursday.

Additionally, the weekend includes a $3,000-to-win / $300-to-start event for Crate Late Models, $1,000-to-win 602 Sportsman, Lees Body Shop Street Stocks ($2,000-to-win), Open Wheel Modifieds ($1,000-to-win), J&M Sales Factory Stocks ($1,000-to-win), Outlaws ($700-to-win) and Vapor Shak Hot Shots ($500-to-win).

In total over $70,000 will be distributed during the course of the mega weekend at the ¼-mile oval.
